NBGI Private Equity wins two more awards

NBGI Private Equity is pleased to report success in the 2009 ACQ Finance Awards.

NBGI Private Equity won two awards in this year's ACQ Finance Awards:
  • ‘Deal of the Year – Western Europe’ for the fund’s exit of Hamworthy Heating
  • ‘Buy and Build House of the year’ recognising NBGI Private Equity’s strong track record and ongoing commitment to buy and build deals in the UK lower mid market.

NBGI PE’s investment in Hamworthy Heating, which was exited in 2008 at an IRR of 38% over 6 years and a money multiple of 6x, was named ‘Deal of the Year – Western Europe’. During NBGI PE’s ownership, Hamworthy significantly developed its position as an established and respected brand in the UK commercial boiler market. Investment in product development and infrastructure helped to grow profits considerably, leading to a successful sale to Atlantic Sfdt, the French engineering conglomerate. NBGI PE was also recognised as ‘Buy and Build House of the year’ recognising the team’s strong track record of buy and builds. Recent buy and build investments include M&E contractor T-Jolly and bars and restaurants group Kornicis Group. These investments build on NBGI PE’s previous success in this area with, for example, Nationwide Autocentres, which generated a 10x money multiple on exit.
